Join the Heart IQ Team in one of the most pivotal roles available in the organisation, the Technical Director role.  This role will work closely with Christian Pankhurst in creating and capturing the magic of Heart IQ on film, and then taking this footage to create inspiring documentaries, trailers and marketing material for all the world to see! This role also plays a key part in our website design, creation and upkeep, ensuring that our websites are up-to-date and functioning properly.

To truly claim this position, you must be able to perform confidently under stress, multi-task, have a strong work ethic and a drive for quality, inspiring, “movie-like” pre and post production.  You will also enjoy going through untold hours of historical film to mine the most inspiring moments for future online products.

If you’re as dedicated to Heart IQ as we are, we’ll train you in the areas needed to become a world class Technical Consultant,  skilled in Audio & Visual, Editing and Web creation - in effect, acquiring a professional resume that most spend years of training and thousands of dollars to obtain.

Audio & Visual

  • A passion for technology, specifically professional sound, camera and lighting - experience in theatre or stage production and setup is a plus
  • Technical skills to manage and operate a control room, specifically the real time audio levels of a multi-mic event, multi-camera switching in a live stream environment and lighting / music controls for live event
  • Basic understanding of sound engineering
  • Basic understanding of photography and video
  • Basic understanding of lighting and subject composition
  • Willingness to learn and enthusiasm towards final product

Editing

  • Pre-production knowledge for documentary and marketing film-making
  • Post-production editing for creating high impact products, trailers, highlight reels and clips & case studies for blogs, social media and engagement. 
  • Content curation, video archiving and editing of our past events
  • Good working knowledge of Final Cut Pro or other mainstream editing program
  • Good understanding of transitions and animations

Web

  • Good working knowledge of HTML, javascript, css, etc.
  • Great working knowledge of Photoshop

Requirements:

  • Relocation - this position requires relocation to Friesland, working side by side with Christian and the Heart IQ team daily.  Living on site at the Retreat Centre is a possibility.  
  • Weekends - most of our events and seminars run over the weekend, so your availability is required
  • Willingness -  a dedicated willingness to learn & enthusiasm towards producing a world class final product!
  • Commitment -  a minimum of 1 year commitment to living and working in the Netherlands
  • Technology - you must love technology, possibly even be a bit obsessed with it! 
  • English - we are an international team, however English is our primary language in the office, so you must be fluent in English 
  • International Travel - you  should be able to travel internationally occasionally

The Retreat Centre manager will possess a unique set of skills and knowledge, to include a balance of Business Administration, Networking & Sales, People Development and Team Building, Hospitality and Customer Service.     

Responsibilities

  • As the Heart IQ Retreat Centre Manager your responsibilities will include:
  • Overall responsibility for the administration, operation and programming of the facility    
  • Partnering with the Event Coordinator in planning and organising accommodation, catering and other services, including ensuring events run smoothly and guests receive world class customer service 
  • Promoting and marketing the business through networking, public relations, advertising and ongoing client development 
  • Managing budgets and financial plans as well as controlling expenditure
  • Recruiting, training and staff management  
  • Planning work schedules for Centre staff 
  • Meeting and greeting guests
  • Dealing with customer complaints and comments
  • Addressing problems and troubleshooting challenges onsite and online

  • Language - English fluency is required
